Oscar Cueto - Movements after Muybridge

In Movements after Muybridge präsentiert Oscar Cueto eine Reihe von Animationen für Praxinoskop, die auf den Stop-Motion-Filmen von Edweard Muybridge basieren.

So wie sich jedes Praxinoskop in seiner Form von den anderen unterscheidet, wurde auch jedes Einzelbild des Originalfilms von Cueto sorgfältig retuschiert, um die Handlung und den Zweck der Geschichte, die sie erzählt zu verändern. Ziel der Animationen ist es periphere soziale Emanzipationsbewegungen darzustellen, die sich gegen die repressive Expansion des Zentrums gewehrt haben. Die Praxinoskope und ihre Animationen werden begleitet von der Son-Musik der Ensamble “Luna y Sol” präsentiert.

In Movements after Muybridge, Oscar Cueto presents a series of animations for Praxinoskop based on the stop-motion films of Edweard Muybridge. Just as each Praxinoscope is different in form from the others, each frame of the original film has been carefully retouched by Cueto to change the action and purpose of the story it tells. The aim of the animations is to depict peripheral social emancipation movements that have resisted the repressive expansion of the centre. The praxinoscopes and their animations are presented accompanied by the son music of the ensamble “Luna y Sol”.

En Movimientos después de Muybridge, Oscar Cueto presenta una serie de animaciones para Praxinoskop basadas en las películas en stop-motion de Edweard Muybridge. Al igual que cada Praxinoscopio tiene una forma diferente de los demás, cada fotograma de la película original ha sido cuidadosamente retocado por Cueto para cambiar la acción y el propósito de la historia que cuenta. El objetivo de las animaciones es representar los movimientos de emancipación social periféricos que han resistido la expansión represiva del centro. Los praxinoscopios y sus animaciones se presentan acompañados por la música de son del conjunto “Luna y Sol”.
