Come together in a creative community to collaborate on a common mural project that celebrates the essence of Día de Muertos. You will learn how to create a mural that reflects de symbolism of the Día de Muertos as well as collective artistry. As a memento, you will take home a section of the mural, signed by Miguel.

En este taller, no solo aprenderás diversas técnicas de pintura mural, sino también cómo plasmar la profunda simbología del Día de Muertos en una obra colectiva impresionante. Como recuerdo, te llevarás tu propia obra de arte firmada por Miguel Valverde.

Miguel Valverde

Miguel Vaverde was born in Cuauhtemoc, Chihuahua, Mexico and began painting at a very young age. He obtained an art degree from the Autonomous University of Chihuahua (UACh). His paintings reflect the diversity of his hometown, where he lived among mennonites, indigenous people of the Sierra Tarahurnara, mestizos and spanish-born familles. Following in the footsteps of traditional Mexican muralists, Valverde has created more than 50 intricate murals, several of which have become widely renowned. Valverde's art and talent have given him the opportunty to exhibit his art in Mexico, the USA, Belgium, Austria and Germany. His works are on display in museums and private colections. He is currently developing sculpture and mural painting projects in Texas, Chihuahua and Mexico City.

Step into the vibrant world of Mexican culture and celebrate the rich symbolism of Día de Muertos in captivating art workshops, where watercolor painting and mural art come together in a colorful fusion. Embrace the spirit of this world-renowned tradition as you explore with two famous Mexican artists the depths of its symbolism, paying homage to the departed through art, color and creativity. 
Discover the symbolic elements, such as marigold flowers, sugar skulls, candles, and ofrendas, which are central to this beautiful celebration and learn how this symbolism can be translated into your art.

Our “Día de Arte Méxicano is divided in two workshops. The first unit is dedicated to watercolor painting and the second to mural art. After a thematic and methodological introduction to Día de Muertos, you will work with the artists to create your own art.
The workshops are open to participants of all artistic levels who are drawn to the colorful world of Día de Muertos and wish to express their creativity through watercolor painting and mural art. Whether you are captivated by the symbolism, fascinated by Mexican culture, or simply eager to explore new artistic avenues, this workshop welcomes you with open arms.

The workshops will be held in English and Spanish, according to the preferences of the participants.

There is a 10% discount on the total price if you book both workshops!

Painting materials will be provided and are included in the participation fee. Participants will take home their artwork, signed by the Mexican artists if they wish!
